    Management Processes

Technical companies need technical managers, meaning managers who are experts in the work they manage. Typically, such managers are hired from within a company because of their technical knowledge and experience. These on-the-job managers may or may not be prepared for the additional responsibilities that come with managing.

In large companies, company policies, organization structure, and management processes are each designed to assist the manager in his/her task. As companies grow, they often outpace the management processes that exist and go beyond the ability of their existing managers. For 20 years, CBA has been providing business owners with manager appraisals (assessments) and advice on management processes.

CBA's Management Process consulting in a small business means working with an executive or executive team to identify existing and missing management processes and to evaluate managers in the context of their current responsibilities and future roles.

Our management consulting can take the form of a one-time appraisal of a manager or coaching a manager throughout the year. Our management consulting follows the CBS process of identify, analyze, plan, and align. For some managers we may focus on correcting structure and process, for others we may focus on behavior and performance.

When we work with a company' managers we consider that we are entering a long-term relationship. Our objective is to help the manager accomplish his/her unit's or department's goals. The measure of our success is the performance of the manager and his/her unit, and the return on investment recovered by acting on our advice.
